Support Group
"Is solace anywhere more comforting than that in the arms of a sister."

Run by a local professional, a free weekly psychotherapy support group is available to all participants. The support group creates a private, confidential space for women involved to open up not only to one another but also to themselves, developing effective methods for stress management, self care, and maintaining healthy support networks.

R.E.A.C.H. offers a support group once a week for participants. Lead by Tori Pajeski, a licensed social worker with years of experience in community mental health, the support group is intended to allow women in transition to learn to express and manage feelings about their experiences throughout the duration of the program. The group not only encourages a continued relationship of support between the mentor/mentee, but also allows participants to safely seek the support of one another while traveling their independent paths.
The group process can be instrumental in helping any person come out of an experience of isolation, which is, unfortunately, a "side effect" of both poverty and trauma. Finding out that you are not alone – not alone in your circumstance, not alone in your struggle, not alone in your state of feeling – can be key to standing back up to fight another day.
